SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 132
 
  In Memory
  of
  James R. Bryce, Jr.
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of Corpus Christi in mourning the loss of James R. Bryce, Jr.,
  who died January 15, 2007, at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, James R. Bryce, Jr., was an educator and author;
  he was an accounting professor for many years at Del Mar College,
  where he was known for taking a sincere interest in his students
  and in their professional growth; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bryce wrote and published several accounting
  and finance textbooks during his tenure at Del Mar College; he
  also wrote several books on other subjects, including Liaison
  Pilot, based on his correspondence and experiences during
  World War II; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bryce will be remembered for his kindness and
  enthusiasm and for his conviviality and ability to bring people
  together; he gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, 
  and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
  many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of James R. Bryce, Jr.: his wife, Myrtle Mae; his son,
  Kim Bryce; his daughters, Heather Dawn Bryce and Holli Lisa Fry;
  his sister, Sibyl Jane Bryce Lipton; and his 11 grandchildren and
  two great-grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of James R. Bryce, Jr.
