SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 147

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the schools of the Ysleta Independent School District, which were recently awarded a Texas Educator Excellence Grant from the Governor's Educator Excellence Award Program; and

WHEREAS, The grant program provides a system of financial incentives for educators who have made a positive impact on student academic achievement and who have worked collaboratively for campus success; and

WHEREAS, The grants are awarded to schools based on a demonstration of compelling need paired with high levels of student achievement or growth in student achievement; and

WHEREAS, The Texas Educator Excellence Grants are a reward for the diligent and collaborative efforts of the district's teachers and administrators on behalf of their students; they have brought great honor to the school district and the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend the schools in the Ysleta Independent School District on receiving these impressive grants for educational achievement and commend all those associated with earning the grants; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. Shapleigh
