SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 152
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Steve McFadden, who is retiring after 29 years as
chief of police of the Lewisville Police Department; and
       WHEREAS, Chief McFadden joined the Lewisville Police
Department in 1977; under his direction, the force has grown
from approximately 27 sworn officers in 1977 to its current
strength of 136 sworn officers; and
       WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual,
Chief McFadden has handled his many responsibilities with
exceptional professionalism and dedication; he has fostered an
atmosphere that encourages innovation and a sense of pride and
integrity at the Lewisville Police Department; and
       WHEREAS, In addition to his duties with the department,
Chief McFadden is active in civic affairs; he is a member of the
Greater Lewisville Kiwanis Club and of several advisory boards,
such as the Child Advocacy Center of Denton County; and
       WHEREAS, An exemplary law enforcement officer,
Chief McFadden is admired and respected by his colleagues, and
his presence at the Lewisville Police Department will be greatly
missed; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Steve McFadden on his exceptional
service to the Lewisville Police Department and his many
contributions to our state and extend to him best wishes for the
retirement years ahead; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
