SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 161
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased |
|
to recognize the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department on the |
|
auspicious occasion of its 100th anniversary; and |
|
WHEREAS, Originally formed as the Granbury Chemical |
|
Company in 1906, the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department was |
|
officially chartered on March 1, 1907; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the safety of the citizens of |
|
Granbury and the surrounding area, the department has not |
|
experienced a loss of life in the line of duty during its |
|
100 years of existence; and |
|
WHEREAS, The family of firefighters in this outstanding |
|
fire department has broadened with the passage of time, |
|
reflecting the diversity of the Granbury community; the |
|
Granbury Volunteer Fire Department looks forward to serving |
|
the area for another 100 years; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
80th Legislature, hereby commend the men and women of the |
|
Granbury Volunteer Fire Department for their hard work and |
|
dedication and extend congratulations to them as they celebrate |
|
the department's 100th anniversary; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
the department as a memento of this special occasion. |
