SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 161
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department on the
auspicious occasion of its 100th anniversary; and
       WHEREAS, Originally formed as the Granbury Chemical
Company in 1906, the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department was
officially chartered on March 1, 1907; and
       WHEREAS, Dedicated to the safety of the citizens of
Granbury and the surrounding area, the department has not
experienced a loss of life in the line of duty during its
100 years of existence; and
       WHEREAS, The family of firefighters in this outstanding
fire department has broadened with the passage of time,
reflecting the diversity of the Granbury community; the
Granbury Volunteer Fire Department looks forward to serving
the area for another 100 years; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend the men and women of the
Granbury Volunteer Fire Department for their hard work and
dedication and extend congratulations to them as they celebrate
the department's 100th anniversary; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the department as a memento of this special occasion.
