SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 206
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Frances Leff, who was honored by the Houston-area
League of Women Voters at its annual Repast with a Pair of
Political Pioneers fundraising luncheon on February 1, 2007; and
       WHEREAS, Chosen for the impact she has had on local and
statewide politics, Mrs. Leff has coordinated functions and has
been an energetic fund-raiser for many candidates through the
years; and
       WHEREAS, Mrs. Leff became involved in politics during the
second election campaign for governor Bill Clements in 1986, and in
the years since then, she has coordinated functions for public
officials and politicians, such as Harris County Judge Robert Eckels,
Precinct Two Commissioner Sylvia Garcia, Governor Rick Perry,
United States senators Phil Gramm and Kay Bailey Hutchinson, and
State Senator Rodney Ellis; and
       WHEREAS, In honor of her 75th birthday in 2002, the city
honored her with "Frances Leff 'Show Me the Money' Day"; her
energy and enthusiasm and her fundraising skills are an
inspiration to all who know her; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Frances Leff for her many
achievements and extend congratulations to her on being honored
by the Houston-area League of Women Voters; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
