SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 235
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Elizabeth Borders for her outstanding skills as an
equestrian and congratulate her on winning the 2006 American
Quarter Horse Youth Association's Ford Youth World Championship
in showmanship; and
       WHEREAS, Elizabeth and her horse, Finely Principled,
executed a difficult pattern to win the competition; it included
two trots to stops, a trotted rectangle, and a back toward the
judge; and
       WHEREAS, Elizabeth has dedicated herself to equestrian
events; she graduated early from high school to devote a year
to the sport; she has won other competitions as well, including
the All American Quarter Horse Congress showmanship event; and
       WHEREAS, Elizabeth was the unanimous choice of the judges,
and she showed a high level of responsiveness with her horse,
which illustrated how much she and her horse have worked together;
she is truly worthy of recognition for her hard work and commitment;
now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Elizabeth Borders for her hard
work and commitment and extend congratulations to her on winning
the 2006 Ford Youth World Championship in showmanship; and, be it
further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
