SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 237
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased
to recognize Sammy Leon Carolina on the august occasion of his
60th birthday; and
       WHEREAS, Sammy was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on
February 6, 1947; when he was three years old, his family moved
to Wewoka, Oklahoma, where he grew up and graduated with honors
from Wewoka High School; and
       WHEREAS, Sammy attended the University of Oklahoma, where
he graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree in psychology
and a bachelor's degree in sociology; and
       WHEREAS, After college, Sammy moved to Texas, where he began
a career with Sears and Roebuck; he returned to Oklahoma for some
time until finally returning to Texas, where he met his beautiful
future wife, Dyveonne McKinney Craddock, in Dallas; and
       WHEREAS, An admired and respected member of his community,
Sammy is noted for his dedication and commitment to public service;
he looks forward to a bright future with the wisdom he has gained
this year; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to Sammy Leon Carolina
on his 60th birthday; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as a memento of this special day.
