Timothy Allen Swanson |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors |
|
|
and commemorates the life of Corporal Timothy Allen Swanson, |
|
|
who died January 27, 2007, while serving his country in Iraq; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born March 25, 1985, at Fort Hood, Tim Swanson |
|
|
was a member of the Clark High School Reserve Officers' Training |
|
|
Corps; he entered the United States Army immediately following |
|
|
his graduation in 2003; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Corporal Swanson was stationed in Fort Knox, |
|
|
Fort Carson, Germany, and Fort Hood; he was serving his second |
|
|
tour of duty in Iraq when he gave the last full measure of devotion |
|
|
for his country; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tim loved sports and the outdoors; he took much joy |
|
|
in fishing, hunting, hiking, paintball, and the martial arts; he |
|
|
also loved spending time with his family and friends and visiting |
|
|
his grandparents in Texas and Wisconsin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He was a true American hero whose courage, strength, |
|
|
ready smile, and dauntless spirit will not be forgotten by those |
|
|
who knew him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tim was a devoted son, brother, and grandson, and |
|
|
he leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by his |
|
|
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Corporal Timothy Allen Swanson: his loving parents, |
|
|
Dana and Keith Howard; his siblings, Carrie and Charles Howard; |
|
|
his grandparents, Delwin and Caryle Swanson and Charles and |
|
|
Lucille Howard; and his great-grandmother, Hilda Swanson; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy |
|
|
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this |
|
|
day, it do so in memory of Corporal Timothy Allen Swanson. |
