SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 295

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Captain Kenneth Zuver, who is retiring from the Mesquite Fire Department on February 28, 2007, after 34 years of loyal service; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Zuver began his career as a Mesquite firefighter at Station 1 on February 1, 1973; he was promoted to driver-engineer on October 1, 1977, and was assigned to Station 3; he was promoted to lieutenant on January 1, 1980; and

WHEREAS, He earned the rank of captain on November 1, 1983; he served in Stations 4, 5, and 2 until assuming the captain's position at Station 6, where he has remained for the last 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Well known for his dedication and dependability, Captain Zuver has been an exemplary employee of the Mesquite Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, He has earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues, and his presence in the Mesquite Fire Department will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Captain Kenneth Zuver for his exceptional service and his many contributions to the Mesquite Fire Department and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. Deuell
