SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 318

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the North Star Baptist Church of Houston, which hosted the third annual Men's Conference Luncheon on February 3, 2007; and

WHEREAS, The luncheon, sponsored by the Brotherhood Ministry, had as its theme "Men, Empowered to Fill God's Purpose"; and

WHEREAS, North Star Baptist Church's own Reverend Lonnie Mingo and ministers from Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church and New Hope Missionary Baptist Church spoke on various topics from the Bible; and

WHEREAS, The anointed guest speaker, Reverend A. R. Young of the Second Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, explored the theme of the luncheon; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend North Star Baptist Church, Senior Pastor M. A. Henry, and the clergy and congregation for their enduring commitment to the church's holy mission; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a memento of this occasion. Ellis
