SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 344
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Jimena Gandara, who has been named the El Paso Times |
|
2006 All-City Volleyball Most Valuable Player; and |
|
WHEREAS, A senior middle blocker at El Paso High School, |
|
Jimena led the Tigers to a 14-0 district record and its fifth |
|
district title in seven years; she is a four-year starter and a |
|
three-time all-city selection and was named District 1-4A Most |
|
Valuable Player; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jimena averaged 15.3 kills and 4.1 blocks per |
|
match and had a .510 hitting percentage; known for her power and |
|
her ability to lift her team when it was under pressure, she has |
|
been the acknowledged leader of the Tigers; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jimena has demonstrated great talent and |
|
perseverance throughout the year, and she can take great pride |
|
in her performance; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
80th Legislature, hereby commend Jimena Gandara on her many |
|
achievements and extend best wishes to her in all her future |
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
