SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 346
 
  In Memory
  of
  Maria Aguilar Garcia
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of El Paso in mourning the loss of Maria Aguilar Garcia, who died
  January 25, 2007, at the age of 100; and
         WHEREAS, Born January 4, 1907, in Zacatecas, Mexico,
  Mrs. Garcia enriched all who knew her with her love and
  compassion, her warmth and kindness, and her enthusiasm and
  vitality; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Garcia will be remembered for her
  graciousness, her dignity, and her dauntless spirit; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and generosity,
  she gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, openness, and
  valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and
         WHEREAS, She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she
  leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by her
  family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Maria Aguilar Garcia: her daughter and
  son-in-law, Lupita and Ray Vijil; her grandchildren,
  Dolores Elizabeth, David Anthony, and John Raymond; her
  great-grandchildren, Anita, Edward, David, Eric, Anna Alyssa,
  and Camille; her great-great-grandchild, Izaiah; and her
  sisters, Socorro A. Cruz and Belen A. Chavez; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of her family as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Maria Aguilar Garcia.
