SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 369

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Dr. Daniel R. Derrico, vice chancellor for administration with the Alamo Community College District; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Derrico joined the Alamo Community College District after more than 37 years of community college experience, as both a faculty member and an administrator; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure with the district, Dr. Derrico has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional dedication and proficiency; he led a successful $450 million bond campaign, oversaw the Capital Improvement Program, and played a significant role in the opening of the district's fifth college, the Northeast Lakeview College; he served as interim chancellor for 18 months; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Derrico is stepping down from his position to return to his home state of Florida; an exemplary educator and administrator, he will be greatly missed by all associated with the Alamo Community College District; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Daniel R. Derrico for his outstanding contributions to the Alamo Community College District and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. Van de Putte
