SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 381

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize LaTisha O. Chatman, who was recently elected to partnership at McGuire Woods law firm in Norfolk, Virginia; and

WHEREAS, A highly talented and capable attorney, LaTisha Chatman advises corporate clients on a wide variety of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, securities laws, and corporate governance matters; and

WHEREAS, LaTisha Chatman has represented clients in transactions valued at up to $1 billion; her expertise in securities practice includes work under the landmark Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and her sound advice regularly includes counsel on periodic reporting, insider trading, proxy statements, and registered public offerings; and

WHEREAS, Public companies and their boards account for a significant part of her practice; she advises clients on corporate governance matters and compliance issues relating to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, shareholder relations, and board and shareholder meetings; she is truly worthy of legislative recognition for her many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to LaTisha O. Chatman on the occasion of her election as a partner at McGuire Woods; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. Ellis
