SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 412
 
  In Memory
  of
  James C. Kesinger
 
         WHEREAS, The friends and family of United States Army
  Specialist James C. Kesinger of Orange Grove suffered an
  immeasurable loss with the death of this valiant young man on
  December 12, 2005; and
         WHEREAS, Specialist Kesinger was killed while bravely
  serving his country during combat operations in Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, A 1992 graduate of Zapata High School,
  James Kesinger was a talented and highly regarded young man;
  while in high school, he enjoyed sports, played in the band, was
  active in 4-H, earned his black belt in taekwondo, and became one
  of the first male cheerleaders in the history of his alma mater;
  he joined the Army National Guard after graduation and later
  became a combat medic; and
         WHEREAS, Despite the dangers of Operation Iraqi Freedom,
  Specialist Kesinger was dedicated to serving his country and was
  on his second tour of duty in Iraq when he was killed; the heroism
  he demonstrated in battle earned him the Bronze Star Medal, and
  he was awarded a Purple Heart; and
         WHEREAS, James Kesinger exemplified the highest ideals of
  our nation's armed forces and inspired others with his fortitude,
  tenacity, and courage; although his passing leaves a void in the
  lives of those who were fortunate to know him, memories of this
  heroic young Texan will abide in their hearts for years to come;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of James C. Kesinger
  and extend sincere condolences to his family:  his parents,
  Clifford and Deanna Kesinger; his wife, Janie; his children; and
  his sisters; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of James C. Kesinger.
