SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 425
 
  In Memory
  of
  Lisa Rose Flores
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Lisa Rose Flores,
  who died February 15, 2007, at the age of 44; and
         WHEREAS, Lisa Flores was born in San Antonio on
  January 18, 1963, to Ned A. and Laura E. Flores; she was a 1981
  graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, where she was a member of
  the band's clarinet section; and
         WHEREAS, Lisa was an active member of and served as
  treasurer for the original League of United Latin American
  Citizens Council Number 2, and she was well known by many in the
  community for her commitment, her dedication, and her volunteer
  work with the organization; and
         WHEREAS, She was named the League of United Latin American
  Citizens' 2005 Presidential Woman of the Year, and she received
  the 2006 Rey Feo Award for her dedication and service to the Feria
  de las Flores scholarship program; and
         WHEREAS, Lisa was only months away from realizing her dream
  of completing an associate's degree at Saint Phillip's College;
  and
         WHEREAS, Lisa Flores was a devoted mother and a caring
  daughter, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured
  forever by her family, her many friends, and all those whose
  lives she touched; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Lisa Rose Flores: her children, Adam and
  Alyson Quintana; her mother, Laura Flores; and her sister,
  Rebecca Herron; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Lisa Rose Flores.
