SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 435

WHEREAS, Members of the 2006-2007 Leadership Mid Valley class are visiting the State Capitol to gain further insight into the workings of state government; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and

WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a diverse membership with networking opportunities and instruction from knowledgeable figures who encourage students to acquaint themselves with community needs and problems while evaluating possible solutions; and

WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes Monica Berry, Honei Deiu Blanco, Roel Campuzano, Anabell Cardona, Julie Crockett, Irma Garcia, Jimmy Don Lawrence, Julie Majors, James Martinez, Hector Mejia, Norma Montalvo, George Pina, Lucia Regalado, Fernando Saenz, Benito Sanchez, Jason Schoen, and Belda Villalon-Hill; and

WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the program is helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby welcome Leadership Mid Valley to the State Capitol and extend to all participants sincere best wishes for continued success. Lucio
