SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 448

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Kashmere Gardens Church of Christ in Houston on the grand occasion of its 50th anniversary, which is being celebrated March 24, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, the Kashmere Gardens Church of Christ has ministered faithfully to the temporal and spiritual needs of innumerable people; and

WHEREAS, Due to the guidance and wise stewardship of its elders, the church has continued to grow and to play a vital role in the life of the Fifth Ward community; its various outreach programs have included a food pantry, summer youth food programs, and Interfaith Care Team ministries; and

WHEREAS, The Kashmere Gardens Church of Christ has become an invaluable source of strength for its members during times of hardship and bereavement and a source of joy during times of abundance and celebration; and

WHEREAS, The celebration of its 50th anniversary is an expression of the church's enduring commitment to its holy mission and its goal of providing enlightenment and hope to area citizens; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the congregation of Kashmere Gardens Church of Christ on the joyous occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the church as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. Ellis
