SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 450

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Yoli and Orlando Arriaga, owners and founders of the Taco Shack restaurants, for their dedication to the highest standards of food quality and service; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Arriaga opened their first Taco Shack restaurant in 1996 in a small building in central Austin on Medical Parkway; thanks to a group of committed employees and to loyal customers, they have been able to expand to several other locations around Austin; and

WHEREAS, Yoli and Orlando are former teachers and are dedicated to supporting local education; most of their promotional funding is focused on school sponsorships, such as the annual Taco Shack Bowl football game between rivals McCallum High School and Anderson High School; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, Austinites have been fortunate to enjoy the Taco Shack restaurants' fresh food, friendly employees, and fast service; Yoli and Orlando deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication to their family business and their customers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Yoli and Orlando Arriaga for their commitment to the community and their successful entrepreneurship as the owners of Taco Shack, Incorporated, and extend to them best wishes in all their future endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. Watson
