SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 457
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
tribute to Neil Sidney Kibbe on the grand occasion of his 70th
birthday; and
       WHEREAS, Neil Kibbe is a distinguished resident of Marion;
he was born in Dallas on March 21, 1937, to Walter and Violet Kibbe;
he graduated from Sam Houston High School in San Antonio,
Southwest Texas State University, and Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, and he served his country in
the United States Army; and
       WHEREAS, He married Patricia Ann Mangum on September 16, 1961,
and he is the father of Deanna Brunner, Kristi Knox, and
Neil Scot Kibbe; his grandchildren are Alyssa, Blaine, Cale, and
Evan Brunner and Karly Knox; and
       WHEREAS, During his 37 years in the ministry, Mr. Kibbe has
served as pastor of Salem Sayers Baptist Church, Bulverde Baptist
Church, Berkshire Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Hondo,
First Baptist Church of Kerrville, First Baptist Church of
Seguin, and Comal Country Church; and
       WHEREAS, This illustrious gentleman served as the Senate
Pastor of the Day on two occasions, in 1999 and in 2003; and
       WHEREAS, Neil Kibbe is a respected member of his community,
and he is noted for his wisdom, his compassion for others, and his
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be
it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby recognize Neil Sidney Kibbe as a
treasured citizen of the State of Texas and extend to him best
wishes for a memorable 70th birthday celebration; and, be it
further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as a memento of this special day.
