SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 468
 
  In Memory
  of
  Lucille G. Martinez
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Lucille G. Martinez, who died
  February 22, 2007, at the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, Lucille Martinez was born in Poteet on
  February 18, 1915; she married the late Max Martinez, and the couple
  had two daughters, Betty Jean and the late Patricia Marie; and
         WHEREAS, Lucille was a trained beautician and seamstress,
  and she used those skills to provide services to the family-owned
  Max Martinez Funeral Home; the business flourished, largely due
  to Lucille's dedication and involvement; and
         WHEREAS, Lucille was proud to be a descendant of the Travieso
  family, one of the first 16 families from the Canary Islands who
  by order of the king of Spain settled in San Antonio; and
         WHEREAS, She was noted for her charm, her graciousness,
  her style, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest;
  she participated in numerous civic and community activities, and
  she enjoyed golfing and socializing with her friends; and
         WHEREAS, She was a dearly loved mother and grandmother,
  and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured for years
  to come by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Lucille G. Martinez: her daughter and son-in-law,
  Betty Jean and Bob Dobbins; her sisters, Jessie Flores, Josie Smith,
  and Stella Ramirez; her brother, Eugene "Sonny" Guerra; and her
  grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
  family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
  and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
  Lucille Martinez.
