SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 502
	In Memory
	of
	Matthew T. Grimm
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
	commemorates the life of Specialist Matthew T. Grimm, who died
	January 15, 2007, at the age of 21 while serving his country in
	Iraq; and
	WHEREAS, Specialist Grimm was a member of the 2nd Squadron,
	7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry
	Division, based at Fort Bliss; and
	WHEREAS, Specialist Grimm was a resident of
	Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, where he was an outstanding
	high school athlete; he played football and was a hardworking,
	talented wrestler; after high school, he began a career with
	Reffner Motorsports; and
	WHEREAS, Specialist Grimm was a brave soldier who gave his
	life for his country; through his steadfast dedication to duty and
	honor, he embodied the highest ideals of the United States Army;
	and
	WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and loyalty, he will
	continue to live in the hearts and minds of those he left behind;
	now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
	80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
	bereaved family of Specialist Matthew T. Grimm; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
	from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
	day, it do so in memory of Specialist Matthew T. Grimm.
