Mark J. Daily |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Second Lieutenant Mark J. Daily, who |
|
|
died January 15, 2007, at the age of 23 while serving his country |
|
|
in Iraq; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Daily was a member of the 2nd Squadron, |
|
|
7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, |
|
|
based at Fort Bliss; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Daily volunteered for the |
|
|
United States Army out of a deep sense of duty; he was proud to |
|
|
serve his country, and he leaves a legacy of courage and loyalty |
|
|
that was an inspiration to all who served with him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Our nation is fortunate to have young men and |
|
|
women whose love for their country inspires them to take up |
|
|
military service; Lieutenant Daily embodied the highest ideals |
|
|
of the United States Army, and his family and friends will |
|
|
continue to live with treasured memories of his life and his many |
|
|
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Second |
|
|
Lieutenant Mark J. Daily and extend deepest sympathy to all those |
|
|
who mourn his passing; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy |
|
|
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this |
|
|
day, it do so in memory of Second Lieutenant Mark J. Daily. |
|
|
