SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 514
 
  In Memory
  of
  Robert B. Thrasher
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Sergeant Robert B. Thrasher, of
  Folsom, California, who died February 11, 2007, at the age of
  23 while serving his country in Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, Robert Thrasher graduated from Folsom High School
  in 2002 and married his high school sweetheart, Christine; he
  joined the United States Army in order to see the world and learn
  of other cultures; he was fascinated by the historic architecture
  he saw in his travels; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Thrasher was assigned to the 2nd Battalion,
  12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry
  Division, based at Fort Bliss; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his devotion to duty and his patriotism,
  Sergeant Thrasher embodied the highest ideals of the United States
  Army; he lost his life while bravely serving his country in
  Baghdad; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and resolute spirit,
  Sergeant Thrasher will long be remembered with affection and
  admiration by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Sergeant Robert B. Thrasher; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Sergeant Robert Thrasher.
