In Memory |

Ian C. Anderson |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Sergeant Ian C. Anderson, who died |
|
|
January 15, 2007, at the age of 22 while serving his country in |
|
|
Iraq; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Anderson was a member of the |
|
|
2nd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, |
|
|
1st Cavalry Division, based at Fort Bliss; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Anderson was an avid outdoorsman and |
|
|
loved caring for wildlife; he took pleasure in spending time |
|
|
playing soccer with his brothers and sisters; he and his wife, |
|
|
Suzanne, were blessed with their daughter, Lillian, who was three |
|
|
years old at the time of his death; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Anderson aspired to a career in computer |
|
|
technology and loved computer gaming; he was serving in Mosul |
|
|
when he gave the last full measure of devotion in the service of |
|
|
his country; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Anderson embodied the highest principles |
|
|
of the United States Army, and those who knew and loved him will |
|
|
forever carry his spirit close to their hearts; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the |
|
|
bereaved family and friends of Sergeant Ian C. Anderson; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy |
|
|
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this |
|
|
day, it do so in memory of Sergeant Ian C. Anderson. |
|
