SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 544

In Memory

of

Guadalupe Davila

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Guadalupe "Lupe" Davila, who died March 18, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Guadalupe Davila was an exemplary citizen who was respected for her many accomplishments and for her generosity and selfless work in the community; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Davila enriched the lives of others through her warmth and kindness and her enthusiasm and vitality; and

WHEREAS, A pillar in her community, she will be remembered for her graciousness, her dignity, and her indomitable spirit; and

WHEREAS, Lupe Davila was a woman of courage, strength, and compassion, and her wisdom and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and

WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family and many friends will continue to live with treasured memories of her life and her many achievements; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Guadalupe Davila: her sons, Gilbert and Rudy Davila, Tony Ybarra, Jr., and Santiago and Anthony Ybarra; her daughters, Rachel Rodriguez, Yolanda Vasquez, Viola Leal, Grace Solano, Rosa Linda Contreras, Herlinda Ybarra, and Effie Romero; her sisters, Elvira Gomez and Amelia Garza; and her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Guadalupe Davila. Van de Putte
