SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 548
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Mary Mims, who is retiring from the Texas Board of
Pardons and Paroles after 26 years and four months of loyal
service to the state; and
       WHEREAS, Mary Mims began her career with the Texas Board
of Pardons and Paroles by serving as a parole caseworker in the
Amarillo office; over the years, she has served as a district
parole officer in Amarillo and Austin, a unit supervisor in
Austin, and a program administrator in Central Parole-Interstate
Compact and in the Victim Services Unit; and
       WHEREAS, She advanced to the position of program
administrator and assistant director of specialized programs in
the Central Office; and
       WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, Mary has
handled her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency
and dedication; and
       WHEREAS, She is admired and respected by her colleagues,
and her presence as an administrator with the Texas Board of
Pardons and Paroles will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Mary Mims for her exemplary
career and her many years of outstanding service to this state;
and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
