SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 549

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the citizens of Lago Vista for their time, labor, and diligence in restoring a classic McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom jet to its original condition for display at the Lago Vista Rusty Allen Airport; and

WHEREAS, The newly refurbished jet sits at the entrance to the airport and serves as a monument to the courageous men and women who have served and who are currently serving the nation in our armed forces; and

WHEREAS, To better exhibit the features of this versatile aircraft, a new, elaborate mount and wall were designed and built; and

WHEREAS, A ceremony to dedicate the new display of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom jet is being held March 31, 2007, in Lago Vista; this auspicious occasion is truly worthy of recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Lago Vista for their devotion to the historical renovation of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom jet; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. Watson
