SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 551
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Debbie Peterson, who is retiring after more than |
|
|
26 years of loyal service with the Office of the Comptroller of |
|
|
Public Accounts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Debbie joined the comptroller's office on |
|
|
September 11, 1980, as a data entry operator in the Revenue |
|
|
Processing Division, where she worked on the night shift; |
|
|
she later moved to Data Services Applications and served as |
|
|
supervisor of the data entry team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 1993, Debbie became a member of the Renaissance |
|
|
project team, which was organized to present proposals for |
|
|
improving the business processes of the comptroller's office; |
|
|
in 1994, she was named technical lead of Integrated Tax Systems |
|
|
in the Systems Development Division and one year later became |
|
|
project manager; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By January of 2000, Debbie was managing multiple |
|
|
teams with the responsibility for three major releases of the |
|
|
Integrated Tax System; on May 1, 2005, she was promoted to |
|
|
division manager of Information Technology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, Debbie |
|
|
handled her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency |
|
|
and dedication, often working nights and weekends to ensure the |
|
|
success of projects; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Debbie is admired and |
|
|
respected by her colleagues, and her presence in the Office of |
|
|
the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby commend Debbie Peterson on her |
|
|
exceptional service with the Office of the Comptroller of Public |
|
|
Accounts and on her many contributions to our state and extend to |
|
|
her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
