SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 574
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Karin Crump, recipient of the 2007 Saint Mary's Law |
|
|
Alumni Association's Distinguished Young Alumnas Award, for her |
|
|
many contributions to the legal community and to Saint Mary's |
|
|
University School of Law; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Karin fulfilled her requirements for the degree |
|
|
of Juris Doctor from Saint Mary's University School of Law in |
|
|
May of 1997; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As a student at Saint Mary's University School of |
|
|
Law, Karin developed a strong commitment to community service |
|
|
through participation in the Civil Justice Clinic and as a |
|
|
volunteer for various campus ministries projects; she earned the |
|
|
Judge Jack Miller Ethics in Advocacy Award, the Saint Mary's |
|
|
Award for Marianist Service to the Community, the Pro Bono |
|
|
Service Award and the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the |
|
|
Law School Community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Karin practices law at Martin, Disiere, Jefferson |
|
|
and Wisdom, L.L.P., and at Austin's Lakeside Mediation Center; |
|
|
she specializes in insurance litigation, general litigation, and |
|
|
mediation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Karin is the president of the Texas Young Lawyers |
|
|
Association, and she has championed the development and |
|
|
production of They Have a Dream Too: Young Leaders of Civil |
|
|
Rights Movement, the Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation |
|
|
Project, and the Texas Young Lawyers Association Legal Guide for |
|
|
Cancer Patients; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Karin is a devoted wife to her husband, Omar, and |
|
|
a devoted mother to her daughter, Isabella; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby commend Karin Crump for her valuable |
|
|
role in the advancement of the legal community in Texas; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
