SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 608

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Mutual of America for establishing the Mutual of America Community Partnership Award; and

WHEREAS, The Mutual of America Community Partnership Award recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations that have shown exceptional leadership by facilitating partnerships with public, private, or social leaders in an effort to work for the betterment of communities or people in need; and

WHEREAS, Mutual of America began recognizing these organizations in 1996 and since that time has honored 100 partnerships, expanding public awareness of their work and helping them attract additional partners and new sponsors; the partnerships address such problems as poverty, homelessness, drug addiction, and child abuse; and

WHEREAS, Through the Community Partnership Awards, Mutual of America recognizes, supports, and helps extend the work of these vital partnerships, which are dedicated to the public good; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Mutual of America for its commitment to helping those in need and improving communities through the Mutual of America Community Partnership Award; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this outstanding company as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. Van de Putte
