SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 615
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dorsey Trapp, the 2007 recipient of the Patsy Baggett
Children's Service Award; and
       WHEREAS, Mr. Trapp, the Wichita County District Clerk, has
since 1992 made a presentation to jury panels in Wichita County
informing prospective jurors about the opportunity to donate
their jury pay to the Wichita County Child Welfare Board to help
meet the needs of abused and neglected children in Wichita County;
and
       WHEREAS, The money raised from the Jury Fee project ranges
from $1,200 to $1,500 a month and is used exclusively for the
benefit of the children; it has been used for birthday gifts,
medical and dental care not covered by Medicaid, tutoring,
Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities, band and orchestra
instrument rentals and purchases, and many other meaningful
items and activities; and
       WHEREAS, Hundreds of abused and neglected children have
benefited from Mr. Trapp's efforts; his dedication and generosity
are justly deserving of appreciation and admiration; now,
therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Dorsey Trapp for his commitment
to the Wichita County Child Welfare Board and extend congratulations
to him on receiving the Patsy Baggett Children's Service Award;
and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
