SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 631

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Gunnery Sergeant Kenneth N. Brooks, who retired from the United States Marine Corps on October 1, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Brooks joined the United States Marine Corps on June 30, 1977, and served the nation with honor, distinction, and loyalty; and

WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to those who serve in our nation's armed forces; their courageous efforts and tremendous sacrifices are truly deserving of our respect and gratitude; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Brooks is now employed by the Houston Airport System; he is the proud father of four children, and has been blessed with three grandchildren; he is an active member of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Gunnery Sergeant Kenneth N. Brooks on his exemplary service to our nation and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. Ellis
