SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 639
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize the Education Service Center Region 19 Head Start |
|
program in El Paso for receiving the Adelante Con Ganas Award |
|
for April of 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Region 19 Head Start is a federally funded |
|
program that provides educational opportunities and services |
|
for economically challenged children and their families that |
|
enhance the quality of their lives; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Region 19 Head Start program in El Paso is the |
|
third largest Head Start program in the State of Texas and serves |
|
more than 3,800 children and 213 infants and toddlers who live in |
|
El Paso and Hudspeth Counties; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the Region 19 Head Start program, |
|
children are provided a learning environment that helps them |
|
develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally |
|
in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The Education Service Center Region 19 Head Start |
|
program empowers children and families to help their community |
|
through lifelong learning and fosters leadership and positive |
|
interdependence; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
80th Legislature, hereby commend all those involved with the |
|
Education Service Center Region 19 Head Start program for its |
|
exemplary service to the citizens of El Paso and extend |
|
congratulations on receiving the Adelante Con Ganas Award; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
