SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 640
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dr. Lee Lyman D. Tuttle, Jr., who has been named
Distinguished Houston Surgeon for 2007 by the Houston Surgical
Society; and
       WHEREAS, Dr. Tuttle is clinical assistant professor
in the Department of Surgery at The University of Texas and
clinical associate professor in the Department of Surgery at
Baylor College of Medicine; he has served as deputy chief of
Surgery Service at the Methodist Hospital; and
       WHEREAS, A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Tuttle
earned his medical degree in 1956 from Baylor College of
Medicine, where he later completed his surgical residency; he
served his internship at Colorado General Hospital in Denver; and
       WHEREAS, Dr. Tuttle served in the United States Air Force
and was chief of surgery at the United States Air Force Hospital
in Greenville, Mississippi, from 1959 to 1961; and
       WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Dr. Tuttle has shown
special dedication in the field of surgical medicine and has
trained countless surgical residents; he is an active member
of the Houston community and serves on the board of directors
of the Good Samaritan Foundation; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Lee Lyman D. Tuttle, Jr.,
on his outstanding medical career and congratulate him on earning
the title of Distinguished Houston Surgeon for 2007; and, be it
further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of high regard from Texas Senate.
