SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 645
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Chethalil Pothen "NP" John, who is retiring on May 31, 2007,
after 22 years and 5 months of loyal service with the Office of the
Comptroller of Public Accounts; and
       WHEREAS, NP joined the comptroller's office on January 5, 1985,
as an auditor in the Houston North Audit Office; he transferred to
the Houston South Audit Office in 1988 and worked there for many
years before finishing his career in the Los Angeles Audit Office;
and
       WHEREAS, Throughout his career, NP has been noted for his
superior organizational skills and expertise; he has used his
outstanding auditing skills to help train new employees in the
Houston South Audit Office; and
       WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, NP has
handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency
and dedication; his skills have proven to be invaluable as he has
traveled throughout the country performing complex tax audits;
and
       WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, NP is admired and
respected by his colleagues, and his presence in the Office of
the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now,
therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Chethalil Pothen John on his
exceptional service to the Office of the Comptroller of Public
Accounts and his many contributions to our state and extend to
him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it
further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
