SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 648
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Rodney Wells on the occasion of his retirement from the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department after more than 10 years of
loyal service; and
       WHEREAS, Rodney Wells began his service with the Parks and
Wildlife Department after serving more than 20 years in the
United States Army; he was a decorated combat veteran of the
Vietnam War and retired with the rank of sergeant major; and
       WHEREAS, He began working for the parks and wildlife
department as an hourly employee at Franklin Mountains State
Park; he later became administrator of the El Paso State Parks
Complex headquarters; his most recent assignment was as
superintendent of the 24,000-acre Franklin Mountains State Park;
and
       WHEREAS, Rodney has handled his many responsibilities with
the department with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and
       WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Rodney has earned the
admiration and respect of his colleagues, and his presence in the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be greatly missed; now,
therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Rodney Wells for his many
contributions to our state on the occasion of his retirement and
extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be
it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
