SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 658
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Nikita Monique Morrow, who has completed the |
|
requirements for earning a Girl Scout Gold Award; this fine |
|
young woman is being presented the coveted award by the |
|
San Jacinto Girl Scout Council on April 21, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award |
|
that can be earned by girls between the ages of 14 and 18; only a |
|
few Girl Scouts attain this distinguished honor; and |
|
WHEREAS, Girl Scouts develop leadership and organizational |
|
skills through the process of earning a Gold Award, and their |
|
commitment to the betterment of their community forms the basis |
|
for a lifetime of active citizenship; and |
|
WHEREAS, Nikita has shown leadership by designing and |
|
implementing a service project that will be of lasting benefit |
|
to her community; and |
|
WHEREAS, By earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, Nikita has |
|
brought great honor to herself, her family, her council, and her |
|
community; she is truly a shining example to the young people of |
|
this state; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
80th Legislature, hereby commend Nikita Monique Morrow on |
|
receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award and congratulate her on this |
|
outstanding accomplishment; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
