SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 678

WHEREAS, Fort Worth Spinks Airport has been recognized with the Most Improved Airport of the Year Award; and

WHEREAS, Chosen from 300 eligible candidates, Fort Worth Spinks has undergone considerable enhancement since it opened in 2000, growing from a facility where 90 aircraft were based to one where 217 are now located; and

WHEREAS, Helping to earn the prestigious honor of most improved airport are the quality of the air traffic control services, new terminal building, large corporate hangars, t-hangars, box hangars, and a new fixed based operator; and

WHEREAS, Additionally, the City of Fort Worth is working with adjacent communities to plan for the airport's development and for such infrastructure needs as roads to the airport; and

WHEREAS, Fort Worth Spinks Airport is providing exceptional service in an area of rapid population and economic growth, and everyone who has worked to make it such a success merits special recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby congratulate all associated with Fort Worth Spinks Airport on its receipt of the Most Improved Airport of the Year Award and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for the airport as an expression of the sentiment of the members of the Texas Senate. Brimer
