SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 686
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Houston in mourning the loss of Daniel Bazan, Jr.,
who died January 18, 2007, at the age of 21; and
       WHEREAS, The beloved son of Orphalinda and Daniel Bazan,
Daniel was born in Austin on March 10, 1985; he attended schools
in San Marcos through the seventh grade; he then attended schools
in Houston and graduated from North Shore Senior High School in
the Galena Park Independent School District in 2003; and
       WHEREAS, He attended San Jacinto College and was employed
by Pappas Seafood Restaurant; and
       WHEREAS, Known for his integrity, warmth, and sense of
humor, Daniel enriched the lives of others and was beloved by his
family and friends; and
       WHEREAS, He was a devoted son and grandson and a true and
loyal friend, and he leaves behind memories that will be
cherished forever by those who knew him; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Daniel Bazan, Jr.,
and extend sincere condolences to his bereaved family:  his
parents, Orphalinda and Daniel Bazan; his paternal grandmother,
Elvira Bazan Sloan; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins; and, be
it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
so in memory of Daniel Bazan, Jr.
