SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 712
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Sister Michele O'Brien, who is receiving the Lifetime
of Faith and Service Award from Catholic Charities of
San Antonio; and
       WHEREAS, A Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word since
1962, Sister O'Brien has spent more than 40 years in health care,
including radiological technology, nursing, community health,
and health care administration; and
       WHEREAS, Sister O'Brien has dedicated herself to improving
health care in the San Antonio community; she serves as the
director of adult advocacy and public policy for CHRISTUS
Santa Rosa Health Care and as chair of the Ethics Subcommittee
and chair of Health Care for Every Child; and
       WHEREAS, In recognition of her many contributions,
Sister O'Brien is being honored at the fourth annual Catholic
Charities gala being held May 10, 2007, in San Antonio; she is
truly deserving of recognition for her many accomplishments;
now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Sister Michele O'Brien for her
many years of dedication to the health care needs of the
San Antonio community and extend congratulations to her for
receiving the Lifetime of Faith and Service Award from Catholic
Charities; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
