SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 762
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Debra Kretzschmar, who is retiring from the Office
of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on April 30, 2007, after
31 years of loyal service with the state; and
       WHEREAS, Debbie began her career with the comptroller's
office in February, 1976, as a part-time, nighttime keypunch
operator for the Revenue Processing Division; within a month,
she was invited to join the agency on a full-time basis; she
has worked under the leadership of Comptrollers Bob Bullock,
John Sharp, Carole Keeton Strayhorn, and Susan Combs; and
       WHEREAS, After transferring to data services in the
documentation library in 1979, she authored job standards
and library procedures, processed program control logs, and,
as supervisor, monitored and controlled system documentation;
she moved to the operations section as a program administrator
in 1993 and coordinated procedures and paperwork for employees;
and
       WHEREAS, She joined the Information Resource Planning
Group in 1995; the group, which transferred to the Budget and
Internal Auditing Division in 1997, won the comptroller's
Outstanding Team Award; she earned software manager certification
in 2003, and she won the comptroller's Service to Internal
Customers Award in 2005; and
       WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the comptroller's
office, Debbie has handled her many responsibilities with
exceptional efficiency and dedication; she has been an exemplary
employee who earned the admiration and respect of her colleagues,
and her presence at the Office of the Comptroller of Public
Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Debra Kretzschmar for her
exceptional service and her many contributions to our state
and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead;
and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
