SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 768
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize George Alvarado, manager of the T.P. McCampbell |
|
|
Airport in Ingleside, who has been named General Aviation Airport |
|
|
Manager of the Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The title is given to a manager whose exceptional |
|
|
efforts and accomplishments have contributed to the betterment |
|
|
of his airport; George Alvarado began working for the |
|
|
T.P. McCampbell Airport three years ago as an airport attendant, |
|
|
and within a year, he became the airport's full-time manager; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Alvarado recognized the airport's enormous |
|
|
potential as an asset to his community; due to its central |
|
|
location in the Coastal Bend, the airport provides access to |
|
|
local industry, as well as to saltwater fishing, hunting leases, |
|
|
birding sites, and various water sports; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, George Alvarado worked with the local economic |
|
|
development corporation and business leaders to promote the |
|
|
airport's investment opportunities for light industrial, warehousing, |
|
|
hangar development, and aviation support facilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Most significantly, through his completion of an |
|
|
application and his perseverance, he gained approval for an |
|
|
instrument approach to the airport, and he was responsible for |
|
|
the addition of 26 new hangars last fall; to further promote the |
|
|
airport, he hosted a Fly-in and Seafood Dinner last year, with |
|
|
donations from local businesses, the chamber of commerce, and the |
|
|
economic development corporation, to which he invited all local |
|
|
veterans; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, George Alvarado has displayed outstanding |
|
|
leadership in his support and promotion of the T.P. McCampbell |
|
|
Airport, and he deserves recognition for his outstanding |
|
|
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby commend George Alvarado for his work |
|
|
on behalf of the T.P. McCampbell Airport in Ingleside and |
|
|
congratulate him on his selection as General Aviation Airport |
|
|
Manager of the Year; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
