SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 786

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Mineral Wells Airport for receiving the Airport of the Year Award; and

WHEREAS, The award is given annually to an airport in the state that consistently maintains high standards in the services and facilities offered and the care of facilities and grounds; and

WHEREAS, The Mineral Wells Airport is noted as always being well maintained, with friendly, welcoming staff and with after-hours services available at all times; it has a new instrument landing system, which was made available through a direct congressional appropriation, and it continues to add hangar space; and

WHEREAS, A $4 million project was recently completed that improved taxiways, runways, and ramps with the assistance of the aviation division of the Texas Department of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, The Mineral Wells Airport has the support of city officials and local citizens and is a source of much pride in Mineral Wells; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby congratulate the citizens and the aviation community of Mineral Wells on earning the Airport of the Year Award; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate. Estes
