SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 796
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Specialist Forrest John Waterbury, |
|
|
who died March 14, 2007, at the age of 25 while serving his country |
|
|
in Iraq; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Specialist Waterbury was a member of the |
|
|
United States Army's 3rd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment, |
|
|
1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, based at |
|
|
Fort Stewart, Georgia; he was an M1A1 Abrams tank crewman serving |
|
|
his third tour of duty in Iraq when he gave the last full measure |
|
|
of devotion in service to his country; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have young |
|
|
men and women whose love for their country inspires them to take |
|
|
up military service; John Waterbury embodied the highest ideals |
|
|
of the United States armed forces, and those who knew him will |
|
|
forever carry him close in their hearts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He was a devoted son, husband, and father, and |
|
|
he will long be remembered for his generous spirit and his many |
|
|
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Forrest John Waterbury: his wife, Christi; his stepson, |
|
|
Wesley Michaud; his parents, Steve and Barbara Waterbury; and |
|
|
his brother, Christopher; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy |
|
|
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this |
|
|
day, it do so in memory of Forrest John Waterbury. |
|
|
