SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 796
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Specialist Forrest John Waterbury,
who died March 14, 2007, at the age of 25 while serving his country
in Iraq; and
       WHEREAS, Specialist Waterbury was a member of the
United States Army's 3rd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, based at
Fort Stewart, Georgia; he was an M1A1 Abrams tank crewman serving
his third tour of duty in Iraq when he gave the last full measure
of devotion in service to his country; and
       WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have young
men and women whose love for their country inspires them to take
up military service; John Waterbury embodied the highest ideals
of the United States armed forces, and those who knew him will
forever carry him close in their hearts; and
       WHEREAS, He was a devoted son, husband, and father, and
he will long be remembered for his generous spirit and his many
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of Forrest John Waterbury: his wife, Christi; his stepson,
Wesley Michaud; his parents, Steve and Barbara Waterbury; and
his brother, Christopher; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of Forrest John Waterbury.
