SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 875

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9186 Ladies Auxiliary, who are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the organization on April 21, 2007; and

WHEREAS, The Ladies Auxiliary for the Veterans of Foreign Wars was established in 1914; the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 9186 was founded in 1957 to help veterans and their families; and

WHEREAS, The Ladies Auxiliary promotes patriotism, community service, and our country's highest ideals; its members encourage respect for the nation's flag, dedication to duty, and service to country and community; the organization teaches young people about the cost of freedom and the importance of fulfilling their responsibilities to the community; and

WHEREAS, "We serve with love and honor those who answered the call" is the motto for the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 9186; the auxiliary has positively affected the lives of many veterans and their families in the community, and it deserves recognition on this significant occasion; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9186 for their contributions to the community and their continued support of United States military veterans and their families and extend to all best wishes for a memorable 50th anniversary celebration; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the members of the Ladies Auxiliary to commemorate this special occasion. Uresti
