SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 904

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Jamie Foxx for his exceptional career and many accomplishments in the field of arts and entertainment; and

WHEREAS, A native of Terrell, Texas, Jamie Foxx is famous for his outstanding work as an actor, a rhythm and blues singer, and a comedian; in 2004, he became only the third African American to win the Academy Award for Best Actor; he earned the award for his indelible portrayal of Ray Charles in the film Ray; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Foxx has established himself as a uniquely talented leader in the film, television, and music industries; his latest album, Unpredictable, has gone double platinum with over three million copies sold; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Jamie Foxx on his talent, hard work, and outstanding career and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. West
