SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 945
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize James Ingram, who was recently named the 2007 Educator
of the Year by the Saginaw Area Chamber of Commerce; and
       WHEREAS, James Ingram is a fifth grade teacher at Eagle
Mountain Elementary School; he received the honor at the annual
awards banquet on February 22, 2007, in Fort Worth; and
       WHEREAS, He was previously named the Elementary Teacher
of the Year by the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School
District and also received the Eagle Mountain Elementary
Extended Service Award; he was the first educator in the school
district to be named a master teacher; and
       WHEREAS, He is especially noted for his direction of the
annual presentation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, using
period costumes and the Shakespearean text, performed by his
fifth grade students; and
       WHEREAS, A dedicated and resourceful teacher, James Ingram
has demonstrated a creative approach to teaching; he will retire
at the end of this school session after 34 years of exemplary
service and outstanding contributions to the educational system
in his community; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby congratulate James Ingram on receiving
the 2007 Educator of the Year award from the Saginaw Area Chamber
of Commerce and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years
ahead; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
