SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 946
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Peggy A. Phillips on the occasion of her retirement
from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers on July 31, 2007,
after 20 years of loyal service to the state; and
       WHEREAS, Peggy Phillips began working for the state with
the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation;
she was an administrative assistant at the Castner Unit from
1987 to 1992, and she worked in the purchasing and warehouse
department at the Austin State Hospital and the department's
central office from 1992 to 2003; and
       WHEREAS, She has been a purchaser for the Texas Board of
Professional Engineers since 2003; and
       WHEREAS, Throughout her career with the state, Peggy has
fulfilled her many responsibilities with exceptional talent
and acumen; and
       WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, she has earned the
admiration and respect of her colleagues, and her presence
at the Texas Board of Professional Engineers will be greatly
missed; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
80th Legislature, hereby commend Peggy A. Phillips for her many
years of service to the state and extend to her best wishes for
the future; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
