SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 964

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Paul Bury, who has received the 2007 W. Neal Kocurek Commercial Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award from the Austin Business Journal; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bury is the founder of Bury and Partners, Incorporated, the largest engineering firm based in Austin; he came to Austin in the early 1980s and helped to establish a network of business associates that would play a major role in shaping the city's economy; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his leadership in the local business community, Mr. Bury has participated in the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce's Opportunity Austin initiative, traveling throughout the country successfully recruiting companies to locate in Austin; and

WHEREAS, Active in community affairs, Mr. Bury is on the board of Saint Andrew's Episcopal School and the advisory board for Frost Bank; he is a resolute advocate for preserving the Central Texas environment and is a founding member of the Hill Country Conservancy, a group dedicated to finding common ground between the business and environmental communities; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bury was honored by the Austin Business Journal at the Best Real Estate Awards Dinner, which was held April 12, 2007; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 80th Legislature, hereby commend Paul Bury for his many contributions to Austin's growth and prosperity and extend congratulations to him on receiving the W. Neal Kocurek Commercial Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. Watson
